Polyethylene adhesive tape is a kind of base material, mainly used in pipeline external anti-corrosion engineering. Polyethylene adhesive tape is practical and simple to use, and can be used for a long time in a low temperature environment. No impact on the environment. There are many kinds of polyethylene adhesive sizes, select the required size according to different needs. Let's take a look at the characteristics, application areas and precautions of polyethylene adhesive tape.
1. Features and application fields of polyethylene adhesive tape
1. The glue layer has uniform thickness, good initial adhesion, high cohesion, and strong adhesion to the pipe surface. Good airtightness, extremely low water vapor penetration and water absorption; good fluidity, self-repairing, and no permanent bubbles.
2. The substrate and the adhesive layer have a strong affinity, and there will be no degumming and delamination during storage, construction and after use.
3. High electrical insulation, excellent aging resistance stability, and strong resistance to ultraviolet radiation.
4. No holes, withstand voltage and good insulation effect. Can prevent electric shock under natural conditions
5. High strength and good impact resistance, effectively preventing external stress damage; proper elongation. Not easy to break, easy to mechanize and manual use.
6. Single-layer winding of the tape can achieve the normal or reinforced anti-corrosion required by the standard. The traditional tape needs to be wound in multiple layers, which reduces the impact of human factors on the quality of anti-corrosion during the anti-corrosion operation, and reduces the construction cost.
7. Simple construction, fast speed and no curing time. Both manual and mechanical operations are available, shortening the construction period.
8. Low cost, no pollution and three wastes.
9. Complete varieties, specifications and colors, including anti-corrosion belt (inner belt), protective belt (outer belt), mending belt, anti-corrosion primer and construction machinery, etc.
10. Polyethylene adhesive tape is mainly used for oil and natural gas transmission. Anticorrosion on the outer surface of buried steel pipelines for water supply and drainage and gas transportation in chemical industry and urban construction.
11. It has the characteristics of convenient construction and no pollution. It is one of the preferred anti-corrosion systems for external pipeline corrosion.
2. Precautions for polyethylene adhesive tape.
1. The tape should be protected from exposure to sunlight, rain, and deformation during transportation. So as not to damage the adhesive layer and affect the anti-corrosion effect of the pipeline.
2. Before using the polyethylene adhesive tape, ensure that the surface of the anti-corrosion pipeline is dry, stain-free, rust-free, and burr-free. If it is unqualified, the surface needs to be pretreated, otherwise it is easy to degumming.
3. Wrap the polyethylene adhesive tape in time after the primer is applied, if the primer is overnight or encounters heavy sandy weather. It can cause the surface of the primer to be stained with sand and dust, which affects the adhesion between the tape and the primer, and it is easy to swell up where it is not adhered, thereby affecting the quality of corrosion protection.
4. Polyethylene anticorrosive tape must be tightened when it is wound, because as long as it is polyethylene, it has a certain expansion coefficient, and bubbles and bulging will appear after high temperature exposure.
5. After the tape is wound, electric spark testing is required to repair the unqualified places and repair the mouth. If the area is large, the original tape needs to be removed and the steel pipe surface treated again. Then apply primer and wrap the tape until the test is qualified, then the lower ditch can be backfilled.
